Make 2019 Your Best Year Yet

I was asked what my New Year’s resolution was this past Sunday morning, the day before New Year's Eve. “To not have any more New Year’s resolutions,” I replied. I am done with New Year’s resolutions, and maybe you should be too.

You see, no matter how positive or negative 2018 was for you, 2019 is a brand new year that is chock full of potential. January 1st isn’t the only day to start chasing your dreams. Every day is a good day to not only chase but to exceed your wildest dreams; carpe diem!!

In fact, 2019 contains 365 sunrises, each an opportunity to start anew. How amazing, you can reset and start fresh every single morning!

2019 will also contain 365 individual sunsets, each one an opportunity to review how you came closer or moved farther away from your dreams. Then you can chart your course for tomorrow, applying what you learned from today.

2019 will bring each and every one of us 365 unique opportunities to either continue in the direction we are going, or regroup and start over again. So as we begin the new year, I would recommend putting the people and things in your life that will lead to your success.

Find a mentor, someone who is living the life you want to be living in 5 years. Carve time out of your schedule to meet with them over coffee or breakfast. Ask them how they got to where they are and then follow their advice. Always listen more than you talk, for you are trying to learn and absorb their lessons.

Find several accountability partners. There are people who want to see you do better, know what  your goals and dreams are and believe you can accomplish them. Give them  permission to call you out if you are not living up to your full potential, and you do the same thing for them. Surround yourself with them. The more positive people you have in your life, the better off you will be!

Then end each night by setting at least one goal for the next day that leads you closer to your dreams. Visualize yourself successfully reaching that goal before you drift off to sleep. If you can see your success, you will be a success.

To start each morning off right, begin each day by creating a gratitude list. Then give thanks through prayer/meditation for those things you are grateful for that day. I also highly recommend copious amounts of coffee in your morning ritual, but to each their own.

Remember, success doesn't happen accidentally. Trust that you will make it happen because you are good enough, smart enough and strong enough to accomplish your dreams. YOU ARE ENOUGH!!
